Marziat Rahman

Engineer Marziat Rahman working as a Researcher at the Center for Atmospheric Pollution Studies (CAPS) since 2017. Besides she is a Faculty Member of Stamford University Bangladesh at the Department of Environment. Earlier she was designated as Research Assistant in the same department. Ms. Marziat was awarded her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Stamford University Bangladesh. She also completed Diploma in Environmental Engineering from Chittagong Polytechnic Institute.

She has good knowledge in air pollution history of Bangladesh, air quality status of 64 District of Bangladesh and AQI of Dhaka.
She has good skill on different software such as IBM SPSS, ArcGIS, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc. She is very well-versed in operating instruments, collecting, monitoring & evaluating data, data quality assurance, data cleaning, field staff training, statistical analysis, research methodology, research design, questionnaire design, key information and focused group discussion and so on. She is experienced with writing scientific article, newspaper articles, report writing, preparing project proposal, planning projects, managing at different fieldwork, making press release, organizing administrative documents and finance work. She also has numbers of publications in journals, newspapers and conference proceedings and also co-writer of a book. She was involved with several undergraduate and post graduate research project & thesis. Her research interest is Air, Water, Noise Pollution and Climate Change. She is well trained in air, noise and water quality assessment, solid waste management, waste water treatment, green building, civil engineering works, ISO 14001:2015, GIS & Remote Sensing etc. She has involved with several research projects funded by Government of Bangladesh and NGOs. She has experience working with USAID, UKAID, US Forest Service, TARA European Climate Foundation and World Bank

From her early career she was involved with several volunteer organization such as Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), National Children's Task Force (NCTF), Youth Ending Hunger, Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), Poribesh Bachao Andolon (POBA), Bangladesh Environmental Engineer's Association (BEEA), Riverine People etc. And she was former field enumerator Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS). Moreover, she has good leadership and communication skill.
